Meet Linea.

For over two decades I have called Minneapolis my home. Using my voice on City Council is an honor that is more than a title or a job: it is a responsibility rooted in respect and compassion for families, my community and my city.

Meet Linea and Her Family

Representing the 13th Ward is personal to me.

I decided to run for office after collaborating with a group of local high school students to create an organization, now known as Navigate MN, that fights to ensure immigrants and undocumented students are prepared for job training after high school including access to college. I wanted to create the kind of space that empowered young immigrants to become leaders in our city. These students continue to inspire me and have compelled me to do more to ensure systems in my community work for every family – not against them. That’s when I quit my private sector job eight years ago to focus on public service, and run for City Council. Now, seeking my third term as the 13th Ward’s voice on the City Council, my motivations and drive remain the same: our systems of government must work to help, not harm members of our community.

Since moving to Minneapolis, my commitment to this city has grown. While raising a family I also balanced my previous career improving healthcare for seniors. I have had the privilege to further my education at the University of Minnesota through their Master’s of Business Administration school. Afterwards I began volunteering with, and later, co-chairing the Linden Hills Neighborhood Council; I helped to coach the Southwest High School running teams. I was also part of a local farmer market’s start-up. I bring these experiences to City Hall every day.

I have been fortunate to call this city and this community my home for 21 years. My husband Matt and I, as well as our sons Charlie and Oliver have made the Linden Hills neighborhood our place to be rooted in our city and raise our family. With your support, I can continue to invest in our community and our city.
